Review:
Malcolm King (Anthony Anderson) is a wealthy businessman who
is about to divorce his wife. She wants all his money and
he wants her to get nothing. They are both out for revenge.
King devises a plan to be kidnapped and held for ransom, then
his wife will have to pay. The plan gets confused as three
groups try to kidnap King at the same time. King's mistress
(Regina Hall) and her ex-con brother are going to kidnap King
to help him. A man (Jay Mohr) who lives in his grandmother's
basement is instructed to kidnap King to help his African-American
half sister get $10,000.00 because she escaped from prison
and needs money. An unhappy employee also plans to kidnap
King because he fired her and gave her job to his dumb mistress.
All three plans happen one after another and Mohr ends up
with King. There is a lot of crude and sexual humor for a
PG-13 movie. Topics brought up include menstruation, oral
sex, bikini waxes and prison sex. Some of the characters do
drink and smoke. Fun is also poked at the elderly grandmother.
There is not one positive role model in this entire movie
for a young person to relate to or learn from. It presents
racial stereotypes such as blacks being criminals, having
mistresses and getting divorced. If children cannot drive
themselves to the movie, they should not be going.

Linda Thomas is a native Minnesotan.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota
with a double major in sociology and psychology.
Married with a family, she has remained in the
Minneapolis area.
Linda has been a lover of movies
since she was a small child. This love of film
eventually brought her to the point in life where
she is now, a film critic. She was featured on
WCCO radio for three years on the Dark in
the Morning show with Dark Star.
In December of 2001, Linda became
the film critic for the syndicated Ruth
Koscielak Show.
Linda sees over 150 movies a
year and has had the opportunity to interview
a number of directors and actors when they are
in town. She has also appeared on a public access
show called the "Cinema Judge" and has
ventured into writing for "Cinestar"
magazine in September 2002. The Twin Cities movie
magazine is available, for free, at most local
Blockbuster's and local movie cheaters.
Her website is: www.lindathomasmovies.com
As one of the few female reviewers in the Twin
Cities area, she brings a unique point of view
to her reviews. Linda has raised two children,
a boy and a girl, and knows what they like in
movies and what is appropriate. Hopefully, her
reviews will help your family in choosing where
to next spend your movie-going dollar.
